Avito agrees with Russian Post to deliver goods across country
MOSCOW, Oct 23 (PRIME) -- Classifieds website Avito plans to expand delivery of its goods in Moscow by 2020 and across the whole country shortly via national postal carrier Russian from three cities now, Avito Marketing Director Anna Drobakha said on Wednesday at a briefing.
“Russian Post is actively involved in three regions: St. Petersburg, Tver, and Nizhny Novgorod. We see success there and plan to launch the service in Moscow and to deliver goods via Russian Post on the whole territory soon,” Drobakha said.
Russian Post becomes a partner of the service, which means a choice of delivery by this channel is available on Avito’s trading platform.
“A delivery order is transacted through an escrow account, meaning that money is reserved. The seller gets the cash as soon as the goods are delivered to a post office, checked, and received by a buyer. The transaction can be monitored in an application on Avito’s platform, and we, on our part, are also responsible for the deal,” the executive said.
According to the company, Avito handled goods worth 1.19 trillion rubles in 2018. Its monthly audience counts 45 million people.
